Publication of the Interministerial Ordinance establishing the Indigenous Language Alive Program in Law
Interministerial Ordinance AGU/MPI/MJSP No. 1 is published, establishing the Indigenous Language Alive in Law Program. The measure was signed by the Attorney General of the Union, the Minister of Indigenous Peoples, and the Minister of Justice and Public Security, based on the powers set forth in Article 87, sole paragraph, items II and IV, of the Federal Constitution.

Publication of the Public Call Notice
Public Call Notice No. 02/2024 is published, aimed at selecting a Civil Society Organization for executing a Cultural Execution Agreement (TEC), in accordance with Law No. 14.903/2024.

Signing of the Cultural Execution Agreement (TEC)
The Cultural Execution Agreement (TEC) is signed in Brasília, at the headquarters of the Office of the Attorney General (AGU). The act formalized the partnership between the AGU and the Institute of Global Law (IDGlobal), marking the beginning of efforts to promote Indigenous languages within the Brazilian legal field. This TEC is the first in Brazil to be executed under Law No. 14.903/2024.

The result of Public Call Notice No. 02/2024 is published in the Federal Official Gazette, formally announcing the selection of the Institute of Global Law (IDGlobal) for the execution of Cultural Agreement No. 1/2025/AGU – UASG 110792, associated with Case No. 00400.000691/2024-14.

1st IDGlobal Connection – Panel 1: LIVD (FDUSP – São Paulo)
IDGlobal held the 1st IDGlobal Connection in the Great Hall of the University of São Paulo Law School FADUSP. The opening featured a traditional Baniwa dance performance led by Indigenous researchers and Prof. Edilson Baniwa (MPI).
Panel 1 was dedicated to the Living Indigenous Languages in Law Program, with representatives from the AGU, the MPI, and IDGlobal. Topics discussed included:
- Presentation of the LIVD and its objectives.
- The Attorney General’ s role in the program.
- Partial results.
- Reading of the preamble of the Federal Constitution in the Kaingang, Kaiowá, and Tikuna languages.

Kaiowá Prior Consultation (Laranjeira Nhanderú Village – MS)
The third prior consultation was held in Laranjeira Nhanderú Village, in Kaiowá territory, Mato Grosso do Sul. The meeting reinforced the program’s commitment to community participation and the appreciation of the Kaiowá language as a living expression of law and spirituality.

Kaiowá Validation Ceremony (Amambai – MS)
The Kaiowá community held the validation ceremony for the translation of the first part of the 1988 Federal Constitution at the local Indigenous school. The event brought together public officials, Indigenous leaders, teachers, and translators. The most memorable moment was the presence of students who, for the first time, had access to the Constitution in their own language.
